Why choose Canale?
Canale is a small medieval village above Lake Garda, with courtyards, vaulted passages and stone lanes. The Christmas market uses this setting for local craft stalls rather than a large modern square. Go slowly: the village itself is part of the outing, not just a backdrop for shopping.
The official listing also mentions Sunday activities for children at the Aldo Gorfer centre. Check the programme for your particular date, because those activities are not a promise for every opening day.
02
The ten listed days in 2026
The official 2026 dates are 28 and 29 November, 5 to 8 December, 12 and 13 December, and 19 and 20 December. Opening hours are listed as 09:30 to 18:00 on those days. Canale does not open on 13 November, and this market ends before Christmas Day.
Check the organiser's page before leaving for weather, event changes and any updated programme. If your stay falls outside these dates, the village can still be visited, but do not expect the market to be open.

Arrival from Casa Regina 21
The official listing mentions a shuttle from the Lake Tenno car park. Confirm its operation and any parking instructions for your date rather than relying on ordinary village access during an event. Wear shoes suited to uneven stone lanes and allow time for the last walk back to your car.
Our Lake Tenno guide covers the nearby lake and Canale as a separate day trip. In winter, decide on the lake walk only after checking daylight and conditions.
