Things to do with kids in Comano Terme and nearby

A holiday in Comano Terme with kids can mix play, water and small discoveries. Choose one main outing each day according to your children’s walking stamina, pushchair needs and the weather. The destinations outside Comano involve travelling from Cares: they are not all within walking distance of the house.

Closer to Comano: parks, animals and small discoveries

• A short, flexible outing: Parco delle Terme, for green paths and a stop at the play area.
• Play and organised entertainment: Il VillagGino in Ponte Arche; check adult-accompaniment rules before visiting.
• Meeting farm animals: En Galavra educational farm, with family visits by booking.
• A woodland art walk: BoscoArteStenico, a free trail described as pushchair-accessible.
• A museum on a rainy day: Fiavé’s pile-dwelling museum, choosing the indoor visit.
• Children used to walking: Il Pifferaio magico e le palafitte, a 4 km loop to assess in full.

Day trips to Dro, Arco, Molveno and Andalo

• Pools and water play: Prabi Aqua Park in Arco, during its opening season with separate admission.
• An adventure course: Elias Adventure Park near Dro, choosing the route by age and height.
• A walk with a pushchair: Lake Bior and the Molveno lakeshore, following the specific route described by the tourist board.
• Adventure above the lake: Forest Park at Pradel, with courses starting from age four.
• Free outdoor play and discovery: Sarnacli Mountain Park in Andalo; the trail is not pushchair-accessible.
• Indoor swimming when it rains: AcquaIN family pools in Andalo, separate from the Nordic spa.

If your children still nap, plan the break and return journey first. There is no need to add another lake or a castle climb just to fill the day.

This means the outdoor park at Terme di Comano, not the Grand Hotel’s Thermal Spa. The official Garda Trentino park listing describes walking paths and a children’s play area.

It is our suggestion for starting without a long itinerary: walk, stop to play and turn back when your group needs to. To reach the area from the house, check the route from Casa Regina 21 to Terme di Comano and assess the approach separately if bringing a pushchair.

Visiting the park does not include entry to the hotel pools. Spa visits, treatments and organised activities have their own conditions: this suggestion is for time outdoors, not swimming.

Il VillagGino is a children’s play park with entertainment staff near Giardino al Sarca in Ponte Arche, on Via Cesare Battisti. It is a local option for a session of games and organised activities, separate from both the thermal park and Prabi Aqua Park.

The Garda Trentino visitor information, checked on 8 September 2026, says children born after 2017 must be accompanied by an adult. Under-threes may enter with an adult, but the play equipment is for children over 36 months.

Entertainment staff should not be taken to mean unrestricted drop-off childcare. Before planning time without your children, confirm eligibility, supervision and collection arrangements directly with the operator.

For children curious about animals, En Galavra offers guided family visits to a working educational farm in Comano Terme. The visit introduces farm jobs and the animals’ stories; children can help groom a pony or horse before an accompanied short ride, according to their age.

The farm’s family-visit programme (Italian) also describes bookable educational workshops. Booking is required: ask which activities suit your children, the price and the available times before setting out. The page does not publish a fixed minimum riding age.

Use the operator’s contact details and address to arrange the visit. This is a planned farm experience, not an open-access petting zoo.

Above Stenico, sculptures made from forest materials turn a woodland walk into an art trail. Our suggestion is to let the children spot shapes and details along the way: this is a nature-and-art outing, not a playground with rides.

The official BoscoArteStenico visitor information describes free access and a route suitable for pushchairs, with benches and toilets. Check weather and path conditions before visiting; guided tours require booking.

The access description applies to the art trail, not every nearby walk. If you want to add the castle or waterfall, assess those separately in our Stenico and Rio Bianco guide.

At the Museo delle Palafitte di Fiavé, children can discover objects and models of prehistoric life. The museum is indoors; Archeo Natura Park, with reconstructed dwellings and boardwalks, is outdoors. A combined ticket does not make the whole visit rain-proof.

Open the directions from Cares to the pile-dwelling museum and check the official Fiavé opening, ticket and parking information (Italian). Both sites follow seasonal calendars; check and book any workshops according to the programme.

In suitable weather you can add the outdoor park. The tourist board describes a walk of about 20 minutes from the village to Archeo Natura Park: allow for the return and children’s stops too. Contact the ticket office beforehand if you need reduced-mobility access.

For children comfortable with a complete walking route, “Il Pifferaio magico e le palafitte” starts at Fiavé’s archaeological area. The official Pied Piper route sheet (Italian) lists an easy 4 km loop, about 1 hour 30 minutes and 38 metres of ascent.

That timing is a route reference, not an allowance for every family stop. Do not treat it as a few minutes’ stroll or automatically add it to a full museum-and-park visit. Follow the official map and keep to the marked paths in the natural area.

If water play is the children’s priority, Prabi Aqua Park in Arco is a different outing from Comano’s green park. It has a baby pool, spray park and waterslide as well as swimming pools. Plan it during its opening season and choose a day with suitable weather.

Check the official Prabi Aqua Park hours, prices and rules (Italian), including attraction rules for children. Admission is not included in your Casa Regina 21 stay.

Our Arco guide gives directions from the house to the water park. Keep the historic centre as an optional extra rather than promising the children pools, a castle and a lake in the same day.

For a more active day trip, Elias Adventure Park sits between Dro and Pietramurata, among rocks and trees beside the Sarca. It offers obstacle courses and zip lines, with routes chosen according to age and height.

The operator’s course information lists Kid Explorer for children aged 3–5 who are over 80 cm tall. Older children use different courses: confirm the exact requirements, adult-accompaniment rules and availability with the staff.

Check the operator’s seasonal calendar and weather arrangements before travelling. The Garda Trentino listing provides the address and contact details. Plan it as its own outing from Comano, with separate admission.

For a lake day with a gentler walk, consider the official route around Lake Bior and along Lake Molveno’s shore (Italian). Visit Trentino describes this route as flat and suitable for pushchairs.

That description applies to this route, not every path around Molveno. Check the map, surface conditions and the approach from your car park; choose your stopping point according to the children’s energy. Our Lake Molveno guide from Comano Terme includes driving directions and parking information.

A lakeside walk does not require swimming or a trip up to Pradel too. Check seasonal services locally; children need supervision beside the water.

Forest Park adds a different kind of day at Molveno: adventure courses among the trees on the Pradel plateau. Take the Molveno–Pradel gondola, then follow the forest road downhill for about 150 metres to the park entrance.

The official Forest Park course descriptions list the basic course for ages 4–7, medium and advanced routes from age eight, and expert/top routes from age twelve. Ask staff to confirm the appropriate course and all access requirements for your children.

Check the park and lift calendars and prices (Italian) separately: their operating dates are not identical, and the cable-car journey needs its own ticket or a confirmed offer. Use our Molveno guide for the journey from Comano and parking.

At Plan dei Sarnacli in Andalo, thirteen activity stations introduce the landscapes of the Brenta Dolomites through play and discovery. The official Sarnacli guide (Italian) describes a free trail of about 500 metres, allowing around an hour to stop at the activities.

The trail is not suitable for pushchairs: it includes slopes, uneven ground and rock steps. Some climbing, slides and bridge activities are intended for older children. Choose the parts that suit your group and accompany the children around the trail.

Visit in daylight and suitable weather; the operator advises against a winter visit when the area is usually snowy. Plan the journey to Andalo separately rather than treating this as a play area in Ponte Arche.

If the children want water play when outdoor plans fall through, consider a separate trip to AcquaIN in Andalo. Its family pool area includes indoor heated pools, a spray park, a baby area and a waterslide.

Choose the AcquaIN pools, not the separate Nordic Day Spa. Check pool tickets, attraction rules and adult supervision requirements before booking; having a baby area does not make every slide suitable for every child.

The operator recommends online booking. Check the current opening calendar, including maintenance closures, and allow for the return journey from Andalo. This is an indoor alternative to Prabi, not an activity included in the house stay.

1. Day one — settle into Comano: paths and play time in Parco delle Terme, or a session at Il VillagGino if open and its admission rules suit your family. Leave the rest of the day flexible, especially after travelling.
2. Day two — discover Fiavé: the museum, adding Archeo Natura Park only if open and the weather suits. If walking is the priority, consider the Pied Piper loop as the main alternative outing.
3. Day three — choose one bigger outing: Bior and the Molveno lakeshore, Prabi Aqua Park, or an age-appropriate course at Elias or Forest Park. Pick one destination according to the season and your children’s interests.

If rain is forecast, move the museum visit to that day or consider the indoor AcquaIN pools, after checking openings and tickets. If your children prefer animals or art, swap one local outing for En Galavra or BoscoArteStenico instead of adding more stops.

How should we choose by age?

Start with what your children actually need: a pushchair, familiar walking distances, breaks, and an interest in water or history. An “easy” route is not suitable for every age by definition. Slides, workshops and organised activities follow the operator’s rules.

Which activities need booking?

En Galavra requires a booking and AcquaIN recommends booking online. Ask adventure-park staff about availability and course requirements. Organised activities are not automatically drop-off childcare: confirm whether an adult must remain and what supervision is provided.

Can we bring a pushchair to Lake Tenno instead?

Do not assume easy access to the shore: some approaches involve long staircases. Read the Lake Tenno advice on children and accessibility before choosing it as an alternative to Molveno.

What should we budget for?

Allow for adult and child admission, farm activities, adventure courses, workshops, parking and any lifts. BoscoArteStenico and Sarnacli offer free trail access, but transport and extras are separate. Do not assume activities are included in accommodation. Check the day’s route and, if using buses, the return journey in the official local bus timetables.
